In this next installment on local restaurants, I’d like to say a few things about one of my other favorite establishments in the City of Edmonds: Portofino Restaurant & Bar. As with Chanterelle, I’ve been a patron of Portofino for many years. In fact, I’ve been coming to this great local Italian-style restaurant since I was quite young. For this reason I’m delighted to showcase this place here on my blog.
We’ll start out by going over the great ambiance which you’ll find in Portofino and then conclude by mentioning a few of my favorite items. There’s plenty to try, something for everyone, and so these are just a few of my personal favorites.
It’s not often that you find an Italian eatery which combines high-quality cuisine with a very relaxed environment. Portofino has its own big screen TV in a separate bar area, and this is something which adds to the laid back feel of the entire place. At the bar area, you’ll find attractive granite tops coupled with highly comfortable bar chairs. If you just want a nice place to go and watch a game, the bar at Portofino is a very tempting option.
The rest of the layout makes Portofino a great choice for many other occasions. The place is fabulous for friends, a family night out or a date. Whatever the occasion, you’ll enjoy the low-key atmosphere and clean setting.
Favorite Items on the Menu
Portofino’s menu boasts tons of tasty options. For entrees, you’ll find many classic Italian dishes, such as ravioli, alfredo and others. But, if I had to choose just a few favorites, I’d have to go with the lasagna, pizza, and the meatball sandwich. All of these items will satisfy your taste buds and also provide you with a good portion size. Leaving Portofino hungry is almost impossible. The meatball sandwich in particular may require a take-home box, but its delicious taste will make doing so a pleasure instead of a chore. You won’t mind leftovers!
In short, if you’re looking for great Italian food in a relaxed setting, you can’t go wrong with Portofino.
